Day 3 Spitzkoppe (1Night)
This morning we will be driving to Damaraland. Our destination today is Spitzkoppe. Upon arriving you will hike with a local guide to see the bushmen painting. This is a good place for night photography for stars, which will be surrounded by granite hills with a beautiful clear sky.
The Spitzkoppe (“Matterhorn of Namibia”) is nearly 700 million years old. It is a group of bald granite peaks located between Usakos and Swakopmund in the Namib desert of Namibia. The highest outcrop rises about 1784 meters (5857 feet) above sea level.
Accommodation: Spitzkoppe
Day 4 Twyfelfontein Country Lodge (1night)
An early start today as we head deep in Damaraland. Today we will visit to the Damara living museum and Twyfelfontein. Twyfelfontein is famous because of its many rock paintings and rock engravings (Petroglyphs) of the San (Bushmen) of which 2500 were counted. Specifications about the age of the engravings fluctuate and a period of 1000 – 10000 years is stated. Remarkable is that the engravings were made without the use of metal tools.
Accommodation: Twyfelfontein Country Lodge
Day 5 Opuwo (2nights)
We say goodbye to Damaraland as we proceed with our adventure into Kaokoland. The Himba people are independent people and are the last nomads of Namibia. The Himba people are the forefathers of the modern Herero and entered northern Namibia during the 15th / 16th century from Angola.
They are semi-nomadic, pastoral people who breed cattle and goats. Women tend to perform more labor-intensive work than men do, such as carrying water to the village, building homes, and milking cows. Men handle the political tasks and legal trials. Their homes are simple, cone-shaped structures of saplings, bound together with palm leaves, mud, and dung
In the Himba culture, a sign of wealth is not the beauty or quality of a tombstone, but rather the cattle you had owned during your lifetime, represented by the horns on your grave.

Day 7 Waterberg (1 night)
Another early start today as we are going to Waterberg.
Why Waterberg?
Thousands were killed by the pursuing Germans and many lost their lives in the Kalahari Desert due to lack of food and water. Estimates are that nearly two-thirds of the Herero population lost their lives during this period. The graves of German soldiers who lost their lives at Waterberg can still be viewed near the Waterberg rest camp at the base of the park. This makes this place a historical place to visit.
The plateau of the Waterberg rises about 200 m above the surrounding area. As the top layers consist of porous rock precipitation seeps through the rocks and allows lush vegetation at the foot of the mountain. The area around the mountain was declared a nature conservation area in 1972. Some game species have been reintroduced for example the hook-lipped and square-lipped rhinoceros. Buffalo, many species of antelope, leopards, and cheetahs are also found at the mountain. More than 90 mammals and 200 bird species have been recorded, as well as various reptiles.
